Bot MD was founded to empower doctors and care teams with technology that helps them reach more patients.
In many healthcare systems, clinical teams are stretched thin. Patients need answers, reminders, education, follow-up, and support — but hospitals often rely on manual calls, fragmented systems, and overloaded teams to deliver that care.
We build AI products that help hospitals scale quality care safely, consistently, and in the patient’s preferred language and channel.
Why we exist
Healthcare teams shouldn’t have to choose between quality care and scale.
Across many hospitals, doctors, nurses, call centers, and operations teams are asked to support more patients with the same limited resources. Patients expect instant answers, convenient booking, timely reminders, and personalized follow-up — but most healthcare systems were not designed for that level of engagement.
Bot MD exists to close that gap.
We believe AI should not replace care teams. It should give them leverage — helping them respond faster, follow up more reliably, and focus their time on the patients who need them most.
Our story
From a weekend project to a healthcare AI Agent platform.

Bot MD started as a weekend project — Dot and Yanchuan sketching out the earliest version of an AI assistant for doctors over coffee in downtown Singapore.

Bot MD began as a weekend project built by Dot and Yanchuan over nights and weekends in a Coffee Bean cafe in downtown Singapore.

Joined Y Combinator
The team moved to Silicon Valley for Y Combinator, living and working out of a garage in Palo Alto while building the earliest version of Bot MD — an AI assistant for doctors.
- 2019
Returned to Southeast Asia
Bot MD returned to Singapore to support doctors and healthcare teams across large, underserved markets in Asia.
- 2020
Scaled during COVID-19
During the pandemic, Bot MD launched Bot MD Care to help doctors monitor large patient populations through popular chat apps like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.

Bot MD has evolved into a healthcare AI Agent platform that helps hospitals automate patient engagement across inquiries, booking, education, monitoring, surveys, and follow-up workflows.

CEO & Co-Founder
Dot leads Bot MD's product, customer, and commercial strategy. Before founding Bot MD, she spent over a decade in healthcare, including leadership roles across Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines. She brings deep experience in hospital operations, regional healthcare markets, and the challenges care teams face when scaling patient engagement. Bioengineer by training. Stanford Biodesigner.
CTO & Co-Founder
YC leads Bot MD's engineering and AI platform. He architects the technology behind Bot MD's healthcare AI Agents, including multilingual chat, workflow automation, system integrations, and secure deployment across hospital environments. PhD researcher in NLP and applied Machine Learning.
